Support for Indian Participants

The International Congress of Mathematicians to be held at Hyderabad, India during August 19-27, 2010, presents Indian scientists with a unique opportunity of interacting with leading international experts in various mathematical disciplines and benefiting from the numerous plenary and invited lectures. Indian scientists from the various universities and research and teaching institutions across the country are, therefore, encouraged to participate in the Congress.

The Executive Organizing Committee (EOC) of ICM2010 is pleased to announce that funds are available to support a substantial number of Indian participants working/studying in India.

Financial support will cover/ subsidize

  1. Registration fees, which provide for
    • Local transportation to and from the venue of the Congress and place of accommodation provided by the organizers.
    • Access to all the sessions of the Congress
    • Access to several social events associated with the Congress
    • A CD of the Proceedings of the Congress.
  2. Accommodation at Hyderabad for the duration of the Congress
  3. Some travel support will also be available from the applicant’s work place to Hyderabad and back.

Note: Financial support will be given only to those participants who attend the entire Congress. Interested people working/teaching in the mathematical sciences including research scholars are encouraged to apply for financial support.

Those applicants who apply by post and do not have an email address should include with their application a self addressed card or envelope if they want their application to be acknowledged.

Selected applicants will be informed by March 31, 2010 and they must register by 30th May and bring original identity card to the conference. If the ID card does not have photograph, then any original photo-identity is additionally required.

Note also that

  1. Applicants are no longer allowed to modify their applications.

  2. Applicants are kindly requested not to inquire about the status of their applications until 31st of March, applicants will be informed of the disposition of their applications by this date.
  3. Problems and inquiries (other than the outcome of individual applications in the selection process) can be still made using the contact form.
